Fourth Village Providore
5a Vista St
Mosman
(cafe/restaurant at other end, facing out into Mosman Village Square)
Well I was all set to take myself down to my favourite spot, Ripples at Chowder Bay, today as not starting work till 12 noon. A lovely cycle down the hill to get there but alas was closed ! But that turned into gain once I made it back up the hill to Mosman Village. Second choice was the fairly newly opened Fourth Village Providore in the square there. And as far as the food goes, it may just have become my new favourite after this morning. The cafe/restaurant there always packed out at the weekend and with good reason.
A key element for me when eating out is to get something special that I can’t just whip up for myself at home. Achieved that today. Stand out on the standard breakfast menu was a mushroom dish featuring mushroom, potato rosti, tomato, spinach and ricotta cheese but I also fancied eggs. Very obliging service and it was no problem to get a couple of poached eggs added as a side to the dish - voila

And it tasted as good as it looks. Definitely worth more visits. As well as the cafe/restaurant it is a beautiful store with all sorts of fresh produce including a cheese room.
